My cat had kittens six weeks ago and now carries and licks dog toys (stuffed animals). why is this?
she also meows a LOT and it sounds like she’s looking for her babies even when they are near her. could she be in heat again?? so soon??

If you sold or gave away the kittens, then your cat is missing the bonding between her and her kittens, so she is substituting kittens for dog toys. She is licking them to clean them (just as she would with a kitten) and carrying them like she would with a kitten. nothing is wronf with her, she’s just just missing her kittens.
Cats are curious creatures and can have a litter every 3 months. I have always had cats and if you don’t get them spaded, watch out cause you will be living in a kitty town!
